The Key Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with strategically important customers, maximizing sales opportunities within them. They manage the relationship with theirclientsand serve as the main interface for Planet Foods. The purpose of this position is to develop in-depth “business to business” sales relationships and secure sales with key accounts ensuring the Planet Foods sales revenue and margin targets are achieved in line with the overall Sales & Marketing business plan.
This role is aligned closely with our Brand Managers. These teams will work together to create solid, realistic annual Brand strategies and Key Account plans which will course correct and adjust throughout the year.
**Responsibilities**:
Establishes, develops and maintains professional business relationships with key accounts in order to generate new business, grow existing accounts and ensure preferential opportunities. You understand your Key Accounts business, their peaks, business drivers, challenges, promotions, calendars, product demo’s, customer appreciation days, events etc.
Represents the company product lines from a sound product knowledge base. This includes knowing each products nutritional data, features and benefits and using advantages over our competitors by being fully conversant in our unique selling proposition, price points and listing incentives.
Negotiate packages, promotions, trade spend, rebates and investment for key accounts, in consultation with Marketing in order to meet annual sales targets and budgets
Fosters the '˜One Team’ approach within Planet Foods to ensure all departments are supporting each other in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones.
Analyze sales figures on a weekly basis to ensure emerging market trends are identified early and progress against annual sales targets is closely monitored with corrective action being planned and implemented.
Customer service is a key focus for all Planet Foods staff. Responsible to expedite the resolution of customer challenges and complaints. Proactively provide management with reports on customer needs, challenges, business opportunities, competitive activities, and potential for new products.
Maintains a professional business relationship with the Principals and Suppliers of Planet Foods in consultation with the marketing department.
Completes all reports as required and to deadline.
**Requirements**:
Â-College diploma or university degree is an asset but not a requirement
Â-5+ years relevant industry experience
Â-Passionate about healthy nutrition and consumer products focused on sustainability
Â-Understands the marketplace and industry competition; experience within the Broker/Distribution business is preferred
Â-Motivated self-starter, who can readily thrive and consistently maintain business focus in a remote working environment.
Â-Highly resourceful; proactive in compiling needed information in a lean working environment
Â-Dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
Â-Skillful, open-minded negotiator who aims to resolve differences in a diplomatic fashion
