THE ROLE
Our Associate Advisor, Benefits is an aspiring leader in the group benefits industry, understanding their clients needs and their client’s business. The Advisor will embody strong business development and proven strategic selling abilities and look for strategic ways to generate new relationships, retain existing ones, and grow current ones. The Associate Advisor may be responsible for the overall client experience.
The focus of the role is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and the strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this role. The client needs are dynamic and therefore the work in the role involves innovation and creativity in generating solutions to better the client experience.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:

- Most importantly, you will lead by example, live our values, and drive new business for the company through new business opportunities and expanding sales in existing accounts;
- Be active in leading the growth of the company and managing and maintaining a prospect pipeline;
- A key emphasis on building rapport and relationships and ensuring that strong long term relationships are created by providing an industry leading level of support to clients in maintaining their group benefits needs;
- Identifying and understanding emerging trends within client industries and merging industry trends;
- Working in alignment with internal service team members to provide an exceptional customer service experience;
- Conduct market research on prospects and remain current on all information pertaining to them;
- Continual professional development to enhance your skills and abilities;
- Other duties as required.

**WHAT WE REQUIRE**:

- Strong business acumen along with a natural sales aptitude proven experience of strong consultative and proven strategic selling abilities;
- Bachelor's Degree preferred;
- Must have a valid driver's license and ongoing access to a vehicle;
- Be an advocate for your client, a champion for their needs while to build and develop long-term relationships;
- Attend industry and company events/meetings to actively build and strengthen your professional network (industry affiliations and intermediary partners);
- The emphasis is on results, achieving sales targets, and effective systems that achieve results through and with people;
- Demonstrated breadth across group benefits and depth within key industry sectors;
- LLQP License or willingness to obtain within 2 months of employment;
- Industry designation such as CEBS or working towards;
- Commitment to continuous learning;
- Track record of establishing short
- and long-term product growth goals, and then executing operating plans to achieve those goals;
- Solid leadership skills, energy, and teaming capability; the ability to lead and motivate, share vision, inspire, and rally colleagues
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy and business acumen;
- Skill in analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, teamwork, communication, innovation, and adaptability;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
