**The Program - Passages**:
The Passages Program is a six bed Live-In Program for youth ages 13 to 17 years who have status with Children’s Services. Passages offers a recreation, life skills and relationship-based program, with an average stay of 6-12 months. The intention of the youth’s stay is to collaborate with the youth and their supports to identify strengths and areas of growth where resourcing and skill development can be done with the aim of supporting the youth’s successful transition back to their family (parental or kinship setting) wherever possible, or into a less intrusive placement where indicated by the case plan.

The programming at Passages focuses on cultivating each youth’s sense of self-worth and helps each youth identify, establish, and maintain healthy relationships with their supports to allow for successful and stable transitions. The Passages Program provides youth with a safe and nurturing environment; individualized care plans; educational and recreational activities; and the development of daily routines. The development of strong positive relationships is a key component of the overall success of the Passages Program.

**The Position - Youth and Family Support Worker**:
This is a 1.0 FTE permanent role working 40 hours a week, Tuesday - Saturday, with a rotating schedule of two (2) weeks of 7 am - 3 pm, followed by two (2) weeks of 3 pm -11 pm.

**Competencies**:

- Collaborative team play that is creative with strong organizational skills.
- Able to adapt to changing situations and being flexible.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.

**Education and Experience**:
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should have mínimally a degree/diploma in the Human Service field, experience with youth in a group living environment, be aware of trauma-informed practices, and be professional, reliable and able to work independently.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Current First Aid and CPR C
- Current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Designation
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted) with a clear driving record.
