**Summer Student Admin Support**:
**Contract Position**:
**(12 week contract)**:
You can make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities and seniors who have chosen to maintain their independence by living in their own homes with pride and dignity. Guelph Independent Living (GIL) is a non-profit organization providing personal support services to people where they live for more than 40 years.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, HR, the Summer Student Admin Support position will assist with several administration tasks. Duties may include:

- Reviewing and revising of documents, manuals and reports
- Reorganizing personnel files
- Assisting with special and leisure events
- Researching and writing policies
- Developing health and safety test questions
- Other administrative tasks including filing and copying

**Qualifications**:

- Working towards a post-secondary diploma or degree in Administration, Human Resources, Communication or Health and Safety
- Previous experience in an administrative setting is an asset
- Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Be able to follow direction, as well as work independently and take initiative
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)

**As per the guidelines of the Government of Canada's Canada Summer Jobs Program, to be eligible, the student must**:

- Be available to work from May to August 2017
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;_ and,
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial and territorial legislation and regulations.

This position is 30 hours per week.

**Start date**: May 23, 2017
