The cook/housekeeper is responsible for all duties relating to the purchasing, preparation and serving of all snacks and meals. The cook/housekeeper is responsible for general cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping. The position includes administration tasks such as daily logs and records. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in food preparation and serving.
- Food handler certification.
- Prior experience working with children an asset.
- A recent Vulnerable Sector Check
- At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
- Health assessment and record of immunization, as outlined by legislation.
- Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to operate standard kitchen appliances and laundry equipment.
- Knowledge of Canada’s food guide.
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals.
- Have the physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods.
