Wire Saw Operator

**Objectives**:
- Perform all duties related to operating the Wire saw including setting up, monitoring saw cuts and minor maintenance
- To set up and perform complex cuts and wire pulls on the wire saw
- To monitor and maintain high quality, safety, and productivity targets.
**Working conditions**:
- Work weeks are typically Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm (Summer 7am-5:30 typically), with additional hours as needed.
- Working in hot and cold conditions.
- Working in wet and dusty conditions.
- Physically demanding and ability to work in a loud environment.
- Ability to follow key safety protocols is essential to maintaining a safe work environment (i.e. balanced load)
**Skills Required**:
- Read and write (English) with attention to detail.
- Physically able: ex: lift to 75lbs.
- Able to work with fellow employees with great communication skills.
- Intermediate mathematic skills
- Very driven to keep working and meet production targets.
- Punctuality - must be on time for shifts and breaks.
- Reliable
- proper attendance is essential for this focused seasonal position.
**Job Duties**:
**Level 1 Operator**
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and follow operating procedures on machines and equipment.
- Shut down or reset saw if difficulty arises.
- Maintain and grease machine regularly.
- Wash machine regularly with pressure washer.
- Fill out related maintenance and production sheets
- Set up saw for specific cuts or pulls to cut material to exact size specifications and report
- Monitor saw operations and stone quality doing quality checks in the cuts
- Proper use of personal protective equipment always: work boots, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses
- Takes necessary precautions to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
- Ensure all chemical material is cleaned up and properly disposed of
- Clean and maintain surrounding areas for a safe working environment.
- Contribute to company productivity, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Move tracks and ensure the tracks are level and machines run properly.
**Level 2 Operator**
- All duties of a grade 1 operator
- Able to train and bring forward concerns of their work area and other operators.
- Able to plan and execute intricate wire pulls with help and oversight from the supervisor.
- Able to change components of the machine and provide operator maintenance outlined in the SOP. Must be inspected by supervisor prior to returning equipment to production.
- Able to manage time and multiple saws at once to support production requirements.
- Able to create a plan and recover stuck wire as required.
**Level 3 Operator**
- All duties of grade 1 and 2 operators
- Able to independently plan and execute intricate wire pulls without supervisor input
- Able to independently change components of the machine and provide operator maintenance outlined in the SOP.
- An active member of the team that brings forward solutions to their supervisor.
**Education & Experience**:
- Quarry experience required
- Wire Saw previous experience an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $23.80-$25.80 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
