**Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Indigenous History and Philosophy of Education**
The Department of Educational Foundations, College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan is seeking an Indigenous teacher-scholar from Turtle Island with expertise in Indigenous history and philosophy of education to complement our offerings related to reconciliation, decolonization, equity, diversity and inclusion. Expertise grounded in interdisciplinarity, Indigenous research methodologies and languages, place-based, and sustainability education would be an asset.
Educational Foundations plays a crucial role in the holistic development of pre-service and in-service teachers who are or will become members of the province’s professional teaching force, including in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. Furthermore, we continue to take action toward reconciliation and equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization through programming initiatives while we continue to demonstrate excellence in research through Tri-Council success, publications, and other forms of knowledge mobilization. Within the College of Education, the Department of Educational Foundations fosters innovation and collaboration through teaching, learning, discovery, and transformative pedagogy. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities, and connect faculty and students to local, national, and international contexts, while respecting the best traditions and meeting the highest standards of Canada's world-class research-intensive universities.
Salary band for this position: Assistant Professor $110,489 to $131,909.
This position includes a comprehensive benefits package which includes a dental, health and extended vision care plan; pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long-term disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, an employee assistance program, a professional expense allowance, and a flexible health and wellness spending program.
