BCIT’s **Registrar’s Office** is seeking a **regular, full-time (1.0**FTE**) Manager, International Admissions.**This position participates as a member of the Registrar’s management team. Manages the international admissions team, ensuring the delivery of quality admissions activities and services in support of the Institute’s student enrolment priorities. Acts as a resource and expert on international admissions policy, procedures and program requirements. Collaborates with School leaders and faculty to establish, review and refine admission requirements. Makes recommendations on process and procedural changes in response to shifts in government regulations related to international students.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
**KEY**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Participates as a member of the Registrar’s management team, assisting in the development of strategies, plans and policies and sharing responsibility for achievements and success. Evaluates, develops, and implements standards, processes, procedures, tools and metrics for area of accountability.
- Champions and advocates for the unique needs of international applicants and students, collaborating with internal support functions and representing the Institute in discussions with government agencies, institutions, and external organizations.
- Oversees the administration of provincial systems supporting international student admissions and study permit requirements, including EducationPlannerBC platform and the BC Provincial Attestation Letter system.
- Ensures efficient, and accurate processing and reporting to uphold compliance standards and mitigate risks associated with regulatory requirements. Provides verification to government agencies promptly and efficiently to support students in obtaining their study permits.
- Collaborates with Associate Deans, Program/Department Heads, Enrolment Planning, and others to review and refine admission requirements, including English Language Proficiency assessments and international curriculum equivalencies.
- Investigates complaints from students, faculty, program areas, and academic leaders, ensuring timely resolution of issues related to international admissions. Conducts investigations into potential applicant misconduct, addressing any integrity or compliance concerns to maintain high standards in the admissions process.
- Establishes and maintains a collaborative departmental climate that supports the student-centred vision and values. Develops and implements targeted communications strategies for diverse international applicant audiences.
- Conducts research and provides input into the establishment and development of system requirements, processes and initiatives related to admissions for international students.
- Manages reporting staff, including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management and all other people-management practices.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum five years’ experience at progressive levels of responsibility in a Registrar’s Office and/or relevant administrative functions in a post-secondary environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Advanced ability to lead, coach and manage change in complex organizations.
- Solid knowledge of provincial and federal regulations related to international student admissions and compliance.
- Strong team development and change management skills to enhance service quality, staff productivity and systems efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills, and ability to build productive, and collaborative working relationships across all organizational levels.
- Advanced communications skills, both oral and written, to effectively lead presentations, facilitate group discussions, and organize complex information.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong customer service orientation, with a commitment to enhancing the student experience.
- Solid project management and planning skills, including resource organization, priority setting, and system and procedure implementation.
- Solid analytical and reporting skills, including data analytics.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of automated student information systems, preferably Banner.
