Ingredion is hiring a Utilities Manager to be responsible for providing functional leadership in the Powerhouse for its plant in London Ontario. The position is responsible for the production of plant utilities (electricity, steam, air and water) and all corporate strategic directive relevant to safety, GMP and environmental standards.

Core Responsibilities:

- Monitor co-generation performance with respect to production, quality safety and cost. Review daily performance and make corrections when necessary.
- Manage a staff of five unionized shift powerhouse engineers. Responsible to administer the provisions of the collective agreement.
- Ensure powerhouse equipment is properly maintained. Work closely with outside contractors and Ingredion maintenance team to schedule non-routine maintenance,
- Manages the preparation of the maintenance and repair program for the co-generation facility.
- Manages the fire alarm and fire suppression system in the plant related to the fire code, insurance and maintenance.
- Utilize KPI’s (key performance indicator) system to monitor and identify improvement opportunities in the area of the co-generation facility.
- Manage co-gen and other projects related to electricity, steam, air and water.
- Manage custodial services and facility management related to grounds management.
- Develop and implement applicable department policies, systems and procedures, while ensuring that productivity levels are met and maintained.
- Manage the annual department budget, reviewing associated costs and utilization. Ensure that spending is in compliance with budget.
- Develop and supervise energy conservation programs to maintain operations and minimize costs. Oversee environmental programs to reduce costs of operations and to ensure compliance
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Utilize your knowledge, data, and experience to recognize and implement opportunities for improvement
