**Position Summary**:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining the quality and safety of our residential properties. This hands-on position focuses on timely repairs, unit turnover, and general upkeep to ensure rent-ready conditions and an excellent experience for tenants — from street to suite. The technician supports daily operations, provides coverage when needed, and helps uphold the visual and functional integrity of the properties.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Available Repairs & Unit Maintenance**
- Complete minor plumbing tasks (e.g. toilet repairs, leaky faucets, clogged drains)
- Patch and paint drywall in both occupied and vacant units
- Perform light carpentry, including door alignment, cabinet fixes, and trim work
- Repair vinyl flooring as needed
- Maintain interior common areas, including hallway touch-ups and wall repairs

**Vacant Unit Turnover**
- Ensure vacant units are repaired and cleaned in time for viewings and scheduled move-ins
- Coordinate with leasing and property teams to ensure readiness timelines are met
- Address any outstanding issues prior to tenant possession

**Emergency & Sick Coverage**
- Provide maintenance support in the event of illness or vacation coverage for other staff
- Assist with emergency maintenance tasks as needed

**Grounds & Exterior Maintenance**
- Conduct weekly exterior cleaning, including walkways, entrances, and visible common areas
- Support seasonal upkeep and exterior tasks such as litter pickup and light landscaping

**Bulk Waste Removal & Site Cleanliness**
- Ensure timely removal of large garbage or discarded furniture from units and building grounds
- Assist with transporting items to the city dump or recycling centre as needed

**Qualifications**:

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in building or property maintenance
- Proficiency in minor plumbing, drywall repair, painting, basic carpentry, and vinyl floor repair
- Ability to prioritize work orders and meet repair deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Physically able to lift heavy items, use ladders, and perform exterior work in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, presentable spaces
- Valid driver’s license is an asset (for site-to-site support or dump runs)

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
