Process Technician

Silgan Plastics est actuellement à la recherche d’un(e) Technicien(ne) de procédé compétent(e) et fiable pour se joindre à notre équipe à Lachine. Le ou la technicien(ne) de procédé sera responsable de l’installation, de l’opération et de l’optimisation de l’équipement de transformation des plastiques afin d’assurer une production efficace et une qualité de produit élevée. Cela comprend la résolution de problèmes mécaniques, l’entretien mineur de l’équipement, ainsi que la collaboration avec les équipes de qualité et de production pour atteindre les objectifs.

Responsabilités principales:

- Configurer et faire fonctionner les machines de moulage ou d'extrusion de plastique selon les spécifications
- Surveiller les processus de production et effectuer les ajustements nécessaires pour garantir une qualité constante
- Dépanner et résoudre rapidement les problèmes liés aux équipements et aux procédés
- Tenir à jour les dossiers sur les réglages des machines, la production et les contrôles qualité
- Appuyer les changements de format et les procédures de démarrage/arrêt
- Collaborer avec les équipes d’entretien et de qualité pour minimiser les temps d’arrêt et le gaspillage
- Assurer le respect des procédures de sécurité et des politiques de l’entreprise
- Maintenir un environnement de travail propre et organisé

Qualifications:

- Diplôme d’études secondaires
- Certificat ou diplôme en mécanique (un atout)
- 1 à 3 ans d’expérience dans la fabrication de plastiques (moulage par injection, soufflage ou extrusion, un atout)
- Bonne aptitude mécanique et compétences en résolution de problèmes
- Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et en équipe
- Disponibilité pour des horaires flexibles, y compris les fins de semaine au besoin
- Connaissance de base en informatique et familiarité avec les outils de rapport

Silgan Plastics is currently looking for a skilled and reliable Process Technician to join our team in Lachine. The Process Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, and optimization of plastic processing equipment to ensure efficient production and high product quality. This includes troubleshooting equipment issues, performing minor maintenance, and collaborating with quality and production teams to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plastic molding or extrusion machines according to specifications
- Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production output, and quality checks
- Support changeovers and startup/shutdown procedures
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and scrap
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas

Qualifications:

- High school diploma
- Certificate or diploma in a mechanical field (an asset)
- 1-3 years of experience in plastics manufacturing (injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts, including weekends if needed
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with reporting tools
