**Labour Relations Team Lead**

Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 10

Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

Annual salary: $ 127,900.00 - 161,800.00

**Position Highlights**

will be essential in fostering positive labour relations with our unions.

Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Manager, Employee Relations, you will:
**What you'll do**
- Provide expert guidance and advice to team members, management and HR professionals on all aspects of collective

agreements and labour relations matters, such as organizational and workforce changes, investigations, disciplinary
decisions, grievances, human rights cases, accommodations and respectful workplace matters.
- Provide regular, high impact mentoring, coaching, and skill development to the labour relations advisors on the team. Acts

as a senior role model and engages in self-development through personal leadership on all employee relations matters.
Lead complex and sensitive labour relations files and grievances that require a strategic mindset and in depth knowledge of
labour relations.
- Ensure that solutions and outcomes align with our business priorities and drive BC Hydro’s strategic goals forward.
- Lead or participate in company-wide initiatives such as collective bargaining negotiations and policy development.
- Play a lead role in driving collective bargaining strategies and plans, and directly impact the outcome of successful

negotiations.
- Lead the development, implementation and review of workplace policies, processes and governance frameworks.
- Proactively identify efficiencies and improvements as it relates to policies and processes, and develop governance

frameworks.
- Act as a primary point of contact for unions, and build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives,

fostering an environment of mutual respect and cooperation.
- Proactively engage with senior management, HR colleagues and unions to facilitate consultation and collaboration on

workplace dynamics and initiatives that impact our workforce, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to internal stakeholders, empowering them to handle employee relations matters

effectively.
- Represent BC Hydro at settlement conferences, mediations, and third-party hearings, advocating for our organization’s

best interests.

**What you bring**
- We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional with:

- A university degree in business administration, human resources/industrial relations, law, behavioural sciences, or another

relevant discipline.
- Ten (10) years of senior experience in Labour Relations, preferably in a complex unionized environment.
- Expert knowledge of labour and employment legislation and policies.
- In-depth experience leading complex and sensitive labour relations cases and initiatives.
- Strategic mindset and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to persuasively and effectively communicate and

present to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional ability to build relationship and collaborate with varied stakeholders.
- Experience leading company-wide initiatives such as collective bargaining and policy development.
- Ability to identify and drive efficiencies.
- Innovative and forward-thinking mindset.
- Demonstrated experience to mentor and coach others and provide feedback to foster team success.
- Exceptional agility to adapt to shifting priorities and changing contexts with ease.
- A legal background with experience in labour and/or employment law would be an asset.
- Experience in the utility industry would be considered a valuable asset.
