The **Trail and Maintenance Coordinator** position is full time (35 hours/week on average) commencing on or around **June 23rd, 2025** and finishing on or around **August 29th, 2025**.

**Roles and Responsibilities of the Trail and Maintenance Coordinator**:
The Trails and Maintenance Coordinator will begin in late June or early July with a detailed training on health and safety and emergency management procedures at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre. She will be trained on the safe use of all equipment required to successfully complete the day-to-day tasks of the role; training on specific required equipment for tasks will be ongoing through the summer.

The Trails and Maintenance Coordinator will assess, inventory, and prepare a plan for maintenance of the trail system at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre. With the assistance of other Bluewater Education Foundation staff, she will clear, trim, level, and maintain existing trails, as well as updating and ensuring visibility of trail blazes.

The Trails and Maintenance Coordinator will work with BEF and Bluewater District School Board staff to complete other grounds projects on the property of the BOEC; these may include waterfront remediation; cleanup of program areas; design, planning, and building of new program equipment or structures.

The Trails and Maintenance Coordinator, once the maintenance of the trail system is complete, will complete a digital survey of the trail system. Pending time and technological capabilities, she will assist in updating the BOEC’s maps and other resources to reflect changes made to the system.

**This position may include some overnights, weekends, and evenings. Overtime will be accumulated over the course of the summer, and paid out at time x 1.5 after the end of the work term.**

**Certifications and Qualifications**:

- a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle,
- strong outdoor skills (additional certifications an asset) and knowledge of our local ecology,
- current First Aid and CPR certifications (recommended)

Pay: $17.70-$20.70 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
