Quality Assurance Assistant

**Position Summary**

Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with all quality procedures and Highline’s food safety program at Langley and Abbotsford locations. Spends most of the time on floor actively monitoring employees and other practices to ensure standard operating procedures are followed, company’s policies are adhere to, checklist are completed etc. Provides training to associates as required, and maintains quality department filing and records.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Monitors associates for GMP compliance
- Implements developed processes and procedures
- Verifies accuracy of labelling, coding and product and packaging specifications
- Provides refresher training to associates
- Reviews customer complaints and drives corrective action implementation
- Responsible for the effective implementation and management of the food safety program
- Support new product launch
- Supports the overall product quality including customer complaint investigations and correction
- Assist in overseeing and ensuring compliance to the SQF-based Food Safety Management System, Canadian and US regulatory requirements, Customer Specific Food safety program requirements and Canadian Organic Regime requirements
- Supports all food safety and organic auditing activities for farm locations
- Trains and reinforces coaching of company staff on GMPs, HACCP, Sanitation, etc.
- Assist to develop and maintain all food safety, regulatory, organic and quality program documents.
- Maintains all food safety, regulatory, organic and quality records
- Supports development of data management systems to monitor, control, and improve processes
- Conducts inspections
- Assist in Implementing and maintaining environmental program
- Replenishing, collecting and filing QA documents.
- Conducting Water, environmental and product sampling, and plating & reporting results
- Assist to conduct mock recalls
- Conduct shelf life testing on finished product
- Maintain chemical inventory and place order as required
- Organizing product flow, employee and monitoring company policies
- Completion of documentation per food safety and quality policy program (ex. Shift Checklist, Daily Temperature Log, Product Quality Testing, Chemical Inventory Record, Peroxy-Serve 5 Concentra-tion Verification, ATP Protein Allergen Validation, Monthly Probe Calibration Log, Product Shelf Life Evaluation Form etc.)
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Valid driver’s license and own transportation is an asset
- Travel between different farms is required
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be detail oriented, reliable, and able to receive training and execute independently
- Strong communication skills, coupled with analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have the ability to motivate others and lead by example
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be at least 16 years of age
