**Location**
This position may work remotely or from various indoor or outdoor locations throughout Burlington as determined by program needs.
**Position Overview**
- Yoga instruction
- Pilates instruction
- Tai Chi and Qigong instruction
- Personal Trainers with specialization in mobility

Specialized Program Instructors are supported by the Recreation Programmer and report to the Recreation Coordinator. Positions and schedules may vary based on program registrations and current public health guidelines. Hours worked may vary from 0-27.5 hours per week and are based on program needs. Schedules will be set monthly, at a minimum.
**Responsibilities**
Specialized Program Instructors are responsible for:

- Planning and implementing creative and inclusive programs to meet the needs, interests and abilities of all program participants.
- Submitting Program Plans for approval prior to each session.
- Ensuring safety of program, wellbeing of all participants, creating social learning environments, and adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Maintaining required certifications, completing all required trainings, following direction from supervisors, and providing recommendations regarding customer feedback, lesson modification, and activity enhancements.
- During course of instruction provide participants with modifications which consider functional needs and adapt teaching styles to assist participants with learning differences.
- Complete required administrative work as required

**Requirements**:
You have certification and/or a combination of education and experience in the identified program area. Standard First Aid with CPR-C is preferred and dependant on program requirements. This is combined with a minimum of one year of experience creating lesson plans and working with adults 19 years of age and older, and adults 55 years of age and older. Weekend and evening shifts are required.
All staff must complete mandatory training prior to the start of program. Training is offered through a combination of online and in-person learning.
