**Manager, Curriculum and Instruction**

Our mission is to foster economic security for women facing barriers to entry in a workforce where they are traditionally underrepresented. We offer programs and support services to help unemployed and underemployed women explore and connect to careers that pay above a living wage. Careers that not only support their own security but often that of their children. We take pride in the transformative change our connections bring to women, families, and communities.
Reporting to the Director, Training and Development, this role is a Leadership role within the Training department. This role supports training within WBF with the construction and development of courses for both online and face to face delivery. Training may be delivered both internally and externally to students, staff, clients, stakeholders, etc. The Curriculum and Instructional Manager will be responsible for the quality of instruction and curriculum for all WBF programs.
This is a full-time permanent hybrid position, with expectation to be present at the Edmonton Training Centre as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Review all training material that has been deployed through the LMS on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Supervise internal curriculum team staff which may include an Instructional Designer, LMS administrator, graphic designer, editors, writer,
- Prepare, update, and develop course and training materials as needed and adapt materials to changing priorities.
- Manage curriculum development projects resources as required.
- Assist LMS Administrator with basic troubleshooting of LMS and Learning Object issues as needed.
- Ongoing learning about emerging trends and technologies in the learning and development industry.
- Assist with group facilitation for staff development through multiple mediums: Online, face to face and blended models.
- Research and initiate corrections and improvements to course offerings.
- Consult, facilitate and support services for the development, implementation and assessment of learning experiences at the curriculum, program course and class levels in coordination with Training
- Modify and enhance our existing material and processes according to organizational needs and learner feedback.
- Research, design, and internally deliver professional development opportunities to staff members.
- Assume expert consultation role and provide design alternatives.
- Develop course structure throughout all development stages of blended learning, online courses, workshops, or seminars, including their implementation and maintenance.
- Ability to design and incorporate learning objectives, structured learning activities, and modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, that measure the effectiveness of the learning modules.
- Create learning objects using rapid authoring tools like Articulate Storyline.
- Develop policies and procedures around quality curriculum and instruction
- Oversee instructional quality with classroom observations and student feedback reviews

**Skills & Abilities**
- Strong communication abilities, written and verbal, with strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Advanced computer proficiency - Microsoft Office, databases, project management
- Strong organizational abilities with knack for juggling multiple projects
- Knowledge of learning management systems (specifically Talent and Moodle) and trends in learning technology
- Experience with authoring tools such as Articulate
- Ability to solve problems independently and use judgment to raise awareness to more challenging / complex issues
- Knowledge of the various trades' requirements, opportunities, and employment expectations in the construction trades
- Awareness of the challenges of women entering non-traditional trades as well as cultural, economic, and social barriers to adult learning and employment
- Ability to independently make decisions related to the role while considering the consequences and impact on the organization
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and restricted information
