**The Opportunity**:

- We are looking for a Guidance and University Counsellor with a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a proven track record in enabling students to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

In this role, you will participate in guidance program planning for grades 9 to 12, as well as regular guidance responsibilities for a roster of students in grades 9-12, supporting their social and emotional wellbeing and academic success, in addition to post-secondary/career planning, and Grade 11 and Grade 12 Guidance Seminar teaching.

This position is a new continuing full-time bargaining unit position, unionized with OSSTF. The position reports to the Dean of Students. Some of the duties that you will take on include:
Participating in developing and delivering a post-secondary counselling program in support of post-secondary planning and transition.-
Engaging proactively with students, getting to know their current and post-secondary goals and aspirations.-
Delivering post-secondary planning workshops and events for students and families in collaboration with teams across the school.-
Supporting students in course selection to ensure alignment with the student’s university choices.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- ** Guidance Part 1 and 2 (Specialist Qualifications preferred).**-Guiding students through academic and educational planning, social emotional skills development, and relationship building with students’ caregivers and teachers.-
Familiarity with the Independent Schools environment.-
A solid grasp of Culturally Responsive - social-emotional learning (CR-SEL) programming.-
Special Education Qualifications as an added asset.-
