Research and Communications Specialist

The Training Centre is seeking a flexible, motivated **Specialist, Research & Communications **to join its team for a full-time, 18-month contract to create and implement a communications plan that supports our strategic goals and objectives.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Develop and implement communications plans to promote programs, events and initiatives that support strategic goals and objectives.
- Create promotional and marketing materials for distribution through social, digital and print media platforms.
- Manage social media accounts and website content.
- Conduct market research to determine programming needs and improvements.
- Implement community relations outreach to build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance.
- Develop content for research communications and assist with preparing communications for fund development.
- Research and develop plans for revenue generating programs, activities and events
**Qualifications**:
- College diploma in Marketing Management, Social/Digital Media & Communications, Adult Education or a related course of study.
- Three (3) years related experience.
- Experience developing, implementing and contributing to a communications strategy.
- Experience managing social media platforms including building active engagement and expanding outreach.
- Experience with maintaining and updating websites.
- Experience fostering and sustaining relationships with internals and external contacts.
- Prior experience in a not-for-profit organization is an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered._
- Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
- Strong partnership engagement and networking skills.
- Consistent access to a reliable form of transportation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other external organizations, including those that are politically sensitive in nature.
- Travel as required to attend meetings and off-site locations.
All staff have an obligation to contribute to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for students, staff and community members. The Research & Communications Specialist will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment and safety equuipment necessary to perfornn job functions. Additionally, health and safety and WHMIS training will be provided.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: One location
