Requisition ID: 177409 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. **Analyst, Trade Services Centre, GWO - Lending Services.** **Purpose** Contributes to the overall success of the Trade Services Centre, Toronto ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Accountabilities** - Responding promptly and expertly to client, internal partner and correspondent bank inquiries, issues, and complaints; developing workable solutions or escalating to Management as required. - Ensuring transactions are executed in a timely and accurate manner, in adherence with established Service Level Agreement. - Building effective work relationships across the team and with various business line and corporate function contact. - Act as back-up to other Trade Services Specialists as required. - Continuously provide a high level of Customer service while ensuring that operational and documentary requirements are met while mitigating bank risk and customer risk. - Continuously provide a high level of Customer service while ensuring that operational and documentary requirements are met while mitigating bank risk and customer risk. - Prepare, review and approve sample language for Standby letters of credit and Guarantee requests and ensure that the terms are clearly understandable and compatible with the broad parameters of the ICC and Scotiabank policies & practice (TSU Handbook). - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AMUATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AMUATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. - Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Develops and maintains an expert level knowledge of trade finance products and services. **Requirements**: - Degree/Diploma (college or university) - Sound knowledge of Trade Finance Products, with emphasis on Standby Letters of Credit and Guarantee. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment - Ability to overcome challenges presented by a constantly changing work environment - Exceptional communication, organized, able to multi-task, work well under pressure. - Good understanding of AML and OFAC Compliance regulations. - Good working knowledge of ICC rules, ISP98, URDG 758 and UCP 600.
