Job Description: This role is responsible for providing planning, direction and execution on long term Logistics strategies required to ensure Honda Canada has a network that is cost effective and risk averse to external factors. Strategically developing and negotiating carrier contracts that provide Honda Canada with QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) solutions is a critical component to this role.

In addition, this position provides direction to ensure quality vehicle delivery through the supply chain network by developing and implementing policies and standards with factories and service providers. Specifically completing monthly analysis (damage trends and service providers results), site visits to ensure compliance with policy, and managing and administering the damage claims process by working with dealers and service providers on claims approval and audit.

Finally, this role supports the overall management and coordination of the Honda Canada Distribution Center operations at HCM in Alliston & across our national finished product supply chain.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Quality**
- Develop, implement and monitor Quality Assurance Policies and procedures including key performance metrics and targets.
- Prepare monthly damage claim analysis reports and investigate trends and recurring issues. Develop and implement countermeasures in order to lower damage frequencies. Escalation of damage issues with partners based on identified gaps. Proactively working with them on appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure timely coordination of repairs and claims for severely damaged units.
- Participate in site audits as well as carrier field quality audits (e.g. CP/CN monthly audits, AAR audits and review meetings)
- Develop Dealer communications regarding delivery policies and procedures for Dealership level.

HCDC Operation*
- Work with HCM to quickly react to operational issues that may require strategy development including diversion, off-site storage options or system updates
- Support day to day operations to ensure on-time flow of product by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and supporting solution implementation
- Ensure that Carrier and Processor performances are closely monitored and measured to ensure expected services are received

Planning: *
- Develop short term and long-term network strategies required to gain efficiencies, generate savings while ensuring mínimal risk to Honda Canada
- Manage Carrier Contract database to ensure timely renewal of all contracts
- Issue RFP’s, analyze proposals and prepare and negotiate all contracts, rates and terms with all service providers
- Proactive assessment of Network health to determine issues with swift implementation of countermeasures when required
- Ensure creation and monitoring of monthly KPI metrics to be presented/distributed to Sr. Management
- Proactive support of the Operations group by providing Carrier performance metrics and opportunity recommendations
- Ensure MC/PE network and dealer delivery standards are aligned with future operations, by evaluating cost effective opportunities
- Create monthly reflection (CAP-DO) of implemented strategies
- Providing annual forecasts to service providers to ensure sufficient resources to support business

Auto & MCPE Operations: *
- Ensure the timely delivery of product from factory to Dealer to ensure wholesale targets are achieved and that product is delivered within committed ETA by working closely with distribution centers and logistics partners.

**People**:

- Supervise and Develop Logistics Planning Analyst, Claims analyst(s) & Operations analysts with day to day activities, ensuring timely support and growth in their roles

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
*
Completed post-secondary education in Business or Logistics
- 5 years’ experience in Automotive, Logistics, Transportation & Operations an asset
- Results Oriented
- Advanced oral and written business communications and negotiations experience required
- Strong presentation skills for the purpose of recommending and explaining proposals to top level executive management including CEO/COO, department heads, etc.
- Adaptable, embraces change and adjusts quickly to changing work demands; prioritizes tasks to be consistent with organizational vision and department objectives; innovation
- Demonstrate ability to analyze, synthesize, document, translate and communicate business information
- Leadership experience
- Mechanical knowledge
- Strong documentation and communication skills required (Business Requirements, Use Case development, Business process diagraming, information gathering sessions)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Visio (is an asset)
- Experience with process mapping
