Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for an Accounting Assistant III on a full-time permanent basis

Under broad supervision, the Accounting Assistant III provides accounting clerical support in functional areas of the Finance department. This individual performs moderately complex to complex accounting activities such as maintenance and auditing of the general ledger, preparation of detailed accounting statements and financial reports. May direct less experienced staff regarding basic duties and tasks.

Reporting to the Mgr., Accountant III, this position is **100% based in-office at our Mississauga, Ontario** facility. This is a full-time, permanent position that is a replacement to headcount.

**Major Accountability**:

- Provides a broad range of accounting clerical support.
- Performs non-routine and more complex bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
- Maintains general ledger, prepares detailed accounting statements and financial reports.
- Provides advanced clerical support across accounting functions.

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Maintains the general ledger; may validate entries and ensure accuracy.
- Prepares accounting statements and financial reports.
- Assigns transaction codes to documents; ensures document processing within the appropriate accounting period.
- Completes moderately complex calculations.
- Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts and bank statements, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers.
- Closes subsidiary ledgers.
- May follow up on delinquent accounts, as needed.
- Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness and accuracy of account documents; adjusts as needed.
- May occasionally direct less experienced staff regarding basic duties, as needed

**Qualifications**
- **Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities**- Demonstrated broad knowledge bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Excellent development and presentation spreadsheets and other software tools.
- Demonstrated aptitude for math and an ability to perform more complex calculations.

** Education and Experience**- College/University degree, 5 years of experience in a similar role is considered- ** Working Conditions**- Heavy computer use.
- Normal office environment; must be able to sit for long periods- Garland, a Welbilt brand, has been a leading manufacturer for over 160 years which designing and producing a full line of commercial ovens, ranges, griddles, grills, conveyor ovens & countertop cooking equipment. The products are sold to leading fast food chains as well as independent restaurants in over +100 countries. The facility, based in Mississauga, supports our Garland brand and is a division of Ali Group.
