**Position Title**

Maintenance Coordinator, Casual, Flexible

**Overall Goal of this position**

The intent of this role is that our building will be a safe space in the community for both our congregation and the many community groups that meet in our building.
This will happen through regular cleaning and maintenance and being proactive about ensuring that all our systems are serviced and maintained.

Able to wear personal, protective equipment.

In good physical condition. This position requires standing and bending for extended periods of time, walking, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Knowledgeable of basic plumbing, electrical and general repair work pertaining to large facilities.

Able to perform the work of this position with minimum supervision in a safe manner following safety guidelines.

Flexible and willing to work on holidays and weekends when necessary.

Able and willing to work with staff and volunteers.

Effective at organizing and prioritizing.

Able to ensure that our building abides by Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WHMIS.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Liaise with the custodial staff in a managing position (to supervise a dedicated Cleaner who works 15-18 weekly hours plus additional custodial volunteers and contractors as required). Ensuring they are following safety protocols and maintaining cleaning schedules.

Organize, implement and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules collaborating with the custodial staff.

Perform basic repairs around the Church.

Perform light to medium physical duties and be able to lift a load up to 50 pounds.

Implement and maintain schedules for all building systems including but not limited to Furnace, Fire/Emergency, Plumbing, Electrical, Lighting, etc.

Be on-call with the fire alarm company and have the ability to be able to respond to emergencies.

Liaise and oversee the work of tradespeople and companies providing larger repairs and services.

Be able to provide support for special building projects, such as getting quotes, offering expertise, etc.

Other tasks which fall within the general scope of this position description.

**Compensation**

Casual, Flexible - Salaried, starting at $25/hour
3-10 hours per week

A criminal record check will be required of the successful applicant
