**Job Summary**:
Under direct supervision, develops and demonstrates the skills necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, repair Electrical Instrumentation Systems and associated Equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Diagnoses electrical, electronic, instrument or pneumatic problems and expedites repairs.
- Learn to calibrate the instrumentation systems to provide specified and reliable environmental conditions and utilities to production, packaging, laboratory, warehouse and office areas. Document system conditions as assigned.
- Learn to calibrate the instrumentation on production equipment's at various lines and systems to provide specified and reliable results within Apotex's acceptable tolerances.
- Assist/Perform electrical and instrumentation work on Equipment includes HVAC, boilers, dust collectors and purified water systems.
- Learn to diagnose, troubleshoot and work with Diesel Generators, Large UPS units, Surge Suppressors, Automatic Transfer Switches and Switch Gears.
- Expectation is to develop skills and progress to increasingly more complex maintenance tasks and the duties of a licensed electrical / instrumentation technician.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications; locate and diagnose trouble in control systems or equipment.
- Follow the maintenance schedule to reach the production goals by following the proactive maintenance systems of machine rebuilds, value added PM’s, ‘fix it before it breaks’ strategy and continuous improvements.
- Performs proper documentation and communication of work performed in SAP for compliance and contribute to root cause analysis of equipment.
- Follow SOP and acceptable industry practices to develop basic electrical and strong instrumentation trouble shooting.
- Learn and perform calibration requirements, which include the proper use of test instruments and standards and power tools.
- Set up equipment when required.
- Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

**Job Requirements**:

- Education
- A minimum High School Diploma or equivalent to enter an apprenticeship program.
- Eligible for a Electrical apprenticeship program.
- Helpful to have courses in English, Physics, Science and Math.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Successful and continual completion of technical aptitude assignments.
- Ability to work within a team environment (as part of a team) as demonstrated through previous experience.
- Proven computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive by nature and self-motivated.
- Willing to participate in skill enhancement programs and self development.
- Ability to work any shift, including weekends.
- Experience
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical and pneumatics systems is a bonus.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements, as related to pharmaceuticals is beneficial.
