**Program: Before and After School Program (ages 4 through 12)**

**Hours: Split Shift 7-9:15 am 3:30-5:30 pm Monday - Friday**

**As a leader in child care in the Brockville and surrounding area, we are responsible for the care of over 40 children during the day, plus an after-school program of over 20 children. Our staff are truly special, dedicated educators who provide a safe and nurturing learning environment that enhances the development of the whole child.**

**Responsibilities**:
**This position is responsible for providing care and education to children 4-12 years of age in a group setting which meets the standards of the Early Years Act, Code of Ethics and the Policies and procedures of the St John Bosco Children’s Centre.**
- Programming, planning, and facilitating a balance of appropriate activities
- Guiding children’s behaviour through discussion and logical sequences
- Communicating with parents on an on-going basis, regarding progress of child development and areas of concern in the children’s behaviour, activities, and any physical concerns

Key Competencies:

- Great interpersonal and relationship building skills with children, parents and co-workers
- Team player, great work ethic
- Creative, takes initiative, plans ahead
- Comfortable handling stressful situations and problem solving as situations arise
- Demonstrated computer literacy and comfort with technology (specifically HiMama app)

Qualifications:

- College Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or equivalent
- Current unrestricted Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Experience in a A SCHOOL AGE program would be beneficial
- Up to date Standard First Aid CPR Level C
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Up to date vaccinations and immunizations as per local health unit guidelines

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-25 per week

**Salary**: $19.40-$21.57 per hour
