POSITION: 2 School Age Educators for after school programs at

our Ange Gabriel site.

School age teaching experience is preferable, and you need to be able to

converse in French. French immersion is welcome, a great way to enhance your

French skills.

Hours: up to 15-25 hrs a week

Start date: Immediately

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Diplomas or degrees in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth

care, or Recreation and Leisure Services
- Bilingual, able to communicate in French a must.
- Current First Aid, CPR and a Police Record Check with Vulnerable

Sector Screen
- Up to date immunization

COMPETENCIES:

- Strong knowledge of child development (4-12)
- Great interpersonal and relationship building skills with children,

parents, and coworkers
- Creative, takes initiative, plans ahead
- Can handle stressful situations as they arise
- Ability to work independently and within a team dynamic
- Experience in a School age program an asset

JOB DUTIES:

- Responsible for providing care and education to children 4-12 years of

age in a group setting which meets the standards of the Early Years

Act, Code of Ethics and the Policies and procedures of the St John

Bosco Children’s Centre.
- Programming, planning, and facilitating a balance of appropriate

activities
- Guiding children’s behavior through discussion and logical sequences
- Communicating with parents on an on-going basis, regarding progress

of child development and areas of concern in the children’s behavior,

activities, and any physical concerns
