We are looking for a staff meal and banquet prep cook to join our growing team at The Vancouver Club. Some of the responsibilities are listed below.

Follow the prep list created by either chefs or one's self to plan duties
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as knife skills, blanching, portioning food etc.
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, canapes, and hors d’oeuvres
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Assist in banquet plate ups of varying sizes
Work buffet stations such as carvery, saute or pasta

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years experience in the kitchen
Must take pride in feeding co-workers a menu that changes weekly at the chef's discretion
Ability to help prepare and execute small and large functions as part of a team
Able to work with and without recipes in order to prepare delicious food
