As a **Lead Carpenter**, you will play a key role in the success of residential construction projects by performing hands-on carpentry work, overseeing on-site carpentry work, guiding apprentices, and ensuring the highest quality craftsmanship. You will report to the Lead Carpenter and Site Superintendent and collaborate with the broader team to bring projects to life.

**Hourly Wage**: $38-45/hr (Permanent Full Time)

**Work Shift**: weekday schedule - 5x8 hours Dec-Jan / 4x10 hours Feb-Nov

**Lead Carpenter Duties**:

- Execute high-quality carpentry work at all phases of construction, from framing to fine finish carpentry.
- Lead and mentor apprentice carpenters, fostering skill development and craftsmanship.
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to architectural plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Collaborate with the Site Superintendent to manage project timelines and workflow.
- Identify and resolve construction issues efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
- Coordinate materials and supplies to keep projects on schedule.
- Communicate effectively with the team, subcontractors, and clients as needed.
- Participate in company-wide safety initiatives and uphold job site safety standards.
- Assist with project planning and estimating as required.
- Other duties as needed may apply.

**Job Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years of residential carpentry experience, including custom home renovations and new builds.
- Red Seal certification in carpentry (or equivalent)
- Experience leading a team of carpenters or apprentices.
- Strong understanding of progressive building techniques (green or passive house training is an asset).
- Proficient understanding of construction and building techniques, with the capability to comprehend and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt on-site.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Dependable team player with a proactive attitude to anticipate company requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Basic proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office (Word & Excel) and construction-related software (Bluebeam, SketchUp) is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Post-secondary education, such as carpentry apprenticeship training (trade school) or equivalent

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
