Customer Liaison Pilot

The Customer Liaison Pilot (CLP) is an integral link internally, between MHI RJ internal departments and externally between airlines, its partners, and various agencies - providing expertise from a Flight Operations standpoint. They are the main point of contact for our operators on operational and pilot-related technical queries for the CRJ Series aircraft fleet.

The CLP plays a coordinating and guiding role in the development and revision of Flight Operating Manuals (FOMs), Flight Operations Notes (FONs), engineering memos, and other documentation when Pilot expertise is required.

This is a hybrid role and reports into the Senior Vice President and Chief Engineer.

Role’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Provide regular operational updates, promote best practices & MHI RJ operational standards, and make targeted presentations for the Flight Operations Steering Committee (FOSC) and Technical Steering Committee (TSC) meetings.
- Designated MHI RJ Subject Matter Expert (SME), who works very closely with aircraft simulator manufacturers and Authorized Training Providers (ATP) to ensure the highest quality of pilot training and standards are continuously maintained.
- Support customer visits, on-site pilot briefings, and in-flight monitoring and assessment to assist operators in improving overall operations, fuel efficiency and safety of flight.
- Provide direct support to customers and coordinate responses for queries with internal departments (Engineering, Customer and Product Support).
- Provide operational expertise to internal departments (Technical Help Desk, In-Service Engineering, Field Service Representatives).
- Visit CRJ operators around the world, conduct pilot briefings, provide in-flight monitoring, and pilot support (as required). Create and submit detailed visit and flight reports with expert feedback.
- Organize and Co-Chair CRJ FOSC activities.
- Present special topics at TSC (Maintenance) Meetings and Operators Conferences.
- Conduct ATP audits to ensure quality of flight training, training materials, and simulators integrity.
- Possess Transport Canada ATP license, with a minimum of 2,500 hours of multi-pilot flight time.
- Hold a valid class 1 medical certificate.
- Must have flight experience on the CRJ Series aircraft.
- Possess previous experience as a Pilot working in an airline environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French & English.
- Current type rating on the CRJ Series aircraft (preferred).
- Experience as a Training Captain / Instructor / Examiner (preferred).
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree (in Engineering is considered an asset).
- Very good interpersonal and presentation skills; comfortable speaking in front of groups.
- Possess a valid passport as international travel may be required.
- Able to obtain a Restrictive Area Identification Card (RAIC).
