Overview:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various machines used in the production process. They are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the machines, monitoring production output, and maintaining quality standards.
Continental Shift 12Hours (2 weeks Days and 2 Weeks Nights)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned machines according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Monitor machine operation to ensure proper functioning, efficiency, and quality output.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure machines are in optimal condition.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine issues or defects, escalating complex problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Set up and adjust machine settings, including speed, size, and other specifications, to meet production requirements.
- Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications and adhere to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine performance, output, and any production-related issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and address any operational challenges.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and reliable machine operation.
- Participate in training programs and stay updated on new equipment, technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a machine operator or in a related manufacturing role is preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as operating manuals and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet production deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to them at all times.
**Salary**: $18.00 per hour

- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON M8V 3L1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
