Warehouse Team Lead

**Role Purpose**
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the warehouse team lead will act in a leadership role and assist in coordinating the daily functions of the warehouse. The Team Lead must also obtain the knowledge and understanding of all shipping and receiving processes and ensure the correct day-to-day operations of all shipping and receiving.
**Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities**
- Comply with the receiving schedule each day and manage receiving platform
- Greet drivers and receive Bill of Landing for incoming materials
- Analyze bill of landing and ensure the address, contact, and purchase order numbers are correct
- Conduct inspection of trucks/trailers before unloading, checking for any damage or potential contamination
- Assist drivers with unloading and inspect packaging of materials, checking for any damage or potential contamination
- Using a forklift, move and re-organize products in designated areas of the plant and/or deliver shipments to the respective departments
- Update online logs and complete required documentation to ensure traceability
- Assist in inventory control, item labelling and cycle count procedures
**Warehouse Team Lead Responsibilities**
- Coordinates the daily activities of shipping and receiving with direction from the Warehouse Manager
- Assigns work tasks across the team and coordinates workflow
- Participates in inbound and outbound traffic coordination meetings.
- Collects and report targeted KPI’s to the Warehouse Manager.
- Oversees the warehouse lifting equipment fleet usage and PM.
- Ensures SQF standards are followed by any warehouse associate.
- Troubleshooting inventory control issues related to Shipping or Receiving operations.
- Assists manager in incident reports investigation.
- Identifies and reports safety concerns.
- Becomes a process expert, and can train other associates on shipping and receiving practices
- Any other task assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
- Can act as a back-up to the warehouse manager in cases of absence
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving and material handler operations in food industry.
- Required, inventory control knowledge
- Strong computer skills (ERP systems, Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Minimum, 1 year of experience driving counterbalance forklift.
- Minimum, High School Diploma
- Preferred, Post-Secondary education in Logistics or relevant warehouse lead experience
- Experience working with FIFO control in the food industry.
**Physical/Working Conditions**
- Must wear personal protective equipment while on the plant floor (including warehouse areas)
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, company uniform
- Must wear hygiene required PPE while on the plant floor (including warehouse areas)
- Hair net, beard/moustache net (if applicable)
- High lift-truck traffic
- Temperature changing environment: humidity, heat, cold
- Noise-heavy environment, personal hearing protection can be provided upon request
- Exposure to wet conditions, slippery floors
- Exposure to food odors
- Possibility for heaving lifting, manually moving products up to 50lbs
- Fast-paced environment
- Regular communication with outside truck drivers
- Outdoor lot management
