The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $210 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
The Greater Victoria School District is looking to hire a Cafeteria Assistant and School Meal Assistant to assist the Culinary Arts / Cook Training Teacher with the operation of the school cafeteria.
QUALIFICATIONS
**The successful applicant must possess**:
Grade 12
Professional Cook Level 1
Food Safe I & II
Serving it Right Certifications
Valid BC driver’s license
One year specific experience in the food and beverage industry
This is a temporary position from September 16, 2024 to June 26, 2025 or return of the incumbent. This position works 20 hours per week as a Cafeteria Assistant at a pay rate of $31.23 plus 13% in lieu of benefits and 11 hours per week as a School Meal Assistant at a pay rate of $28.02 plus 13% in lieu of benefits.
