**About the Organization**:
Founded in 1999, Harvest House Atlantic serves homeless individuals and those facing substance use and mental health challenges in Greater Moncton. Providing emergency shelter, a community kitchen, supportive housing, and **addiction recovery supports**, we strive to break barriers and guide individuals toward stability and transformation through a faith-based approach. We currently support a record 191 people nightly.
**Job Overview**
The Student Summer Job - SEED program and Canada Summer Job (CSJ) offers an exciting opportunity for students and individuals to gain hands-on experience in ground maintenance and assisting building maintenance team in repairing and building facilities for Harvest House program,.
This position is designed for individuals eager to learn and develop practical skills while contributing to the beautification of outdoor spaces and learning to experience operating basic tools in carpentry.
Participants will engage in various tasks that enhance their understanding of landscape management and building maintenance as well as environmental stewardship.
**Duties**
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
- Assist in clearing spaces like emptying garbage from building facilities repairs, and landscaping
- Participate in landscape maintenance activities
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in minor and basic facility maintenance like moving things and painting
- Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor
**Experience**
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in gardening and landscaping.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to assist in maintaining equipment used on-site.
- A willingness to learn new skills related to minor facility care and maintenance
- Previous experience in gardening or landscape work is a plus but not required; enthusiasm and a strong work ethic are essential.
**Program Requirement - SEED and Canada Summer Job**
- be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
- be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
- **NOT** be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
- be a high school student entering grade 10, 11 or 12 in September 2025; **OR**:
- be a full-time grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2024-2025 **AND** be attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2025.
- **Age**: Must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the employment period1.
- **Citizenship**: Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act1.
- **Work Eligibility**: Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada1.
- **International Students**: Not eligible for the Canada Summer Job.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience while working outdoors during the summer months.

Pay: $15.65 per hour
