**Job Summary**:The primary objective of this role is ensuring an un-interrupted supply of materials to meet production requirements, as well as develop and maintain strategic working relationships with supply partners to improve, secure and meet internal/external client requirements. Duties involved with this position includes: - Maintaining a professional, positive working relationship with suppliers and internal departments - Monitoring inventory levels to meet inventory turns objectives - Procure commodities as assigned to be available in time to meet the production schedule from capable and "approved for production" suppliers while matching operational requirements - Analyze and maintain part order qualifier information in Epicor (ERP) as requirements change or at a minimum of once per year. - Manage all orders placed including expediting, price negotiation, sourcing, and transportation - understanding traffic and customs policies and regulations and to work with suppliers to minimize the cost impact of incoming freight, duties and brokerage costs as applicable - Assist with inventory reduction targets and initiatives - Identify cost saving opportunities - Responsible for supplier on-time delivery performance and quality issues - Work with engineering and materials management to identify supplier performance issues and recommending potential new suppliers - Understand the role of the buyer in the Corrective Action (CAR) and Preventative Action (PAR) process - Assist with annual inventory count preparations - Follows all processes and procedures in place and identifies areas for continuous improvement - Compliance and understanding of all Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures - Complete other duties/projects as assigned. **Experience**: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment - Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent experience - Experience with purchasing, negotiation, supplier selection, and sourcing. - 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment in MRO purchasing and inventory management- PMAC Certificate considered an asset - SCMP Accreditation, Courses and Seminars considered an asset uZuJGqEWMD
