The Laboratory Technician I will perform multiple production functions in support of our materials purification and processing. The incumbent will also be responsible for participating in process improvement projects and expansion projects.
**Responsibilities**
- Follow established procedures
- Follow, respect and maintain ISO-9001 standards
- Work in a sterile and conscientious manner
- Work according to good laboratory practices
- Participate in the production of culture media
- Cultivate microalgae in photobioreactors
- Carry out cleaning and sterilization of laboratory equipment
- Perform maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment when necessary
- Complete the production forms
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform SOP review
- Maintain health and safety standards in the laboratory environment
- Keep the work space clean

Le technicien en biotechnologies effectuera la culture d’algues et de cyanobactéries en petit et gros volumes. Il procédera à la culture en photobioréacteurs, à la calibration et à l’entretien d’équipement, à la fabrication de milieux cultures, au nettoyage des réacteurs et à la stérilisation du matériel. Le titulaire du poste sera également responsable de participer à des projets d'amélioration des processus et à des projets d'expansion.

- Suivre les procédures établies
- Suivre, respecter et maintenir les normes ISO-9001
- Travailler de manière stérile et consciencieuse
- Travailler selon les bonnes pratiques de laboratoire
- Participer à la fabrication des milieux de cultures
- Procéder à la culture de microalgues en photobioréacteurs
- Procéder au nettoyage et à la stérilisation des équipements de laboratoire
- Effectuer l’entretien et la calibration d’équipement de laboratoire lorsque nécessaire
- Compléter les formulaires de production
- Participer aux initiatives d'amélioration continue
- Effectuez des révisions de PON
- Maintenir les normes de santé et de sécurité dans l'espace du laboratoire
- Maintenir l’espace de travail propre
**Requirements**:
- Must have a technical degree or higher in biotechnology or a closely related field
- Excellent laboratory technique and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a production environment
- Regularly perform work that requires standing, bending, and stooping
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written; Bilingualism is an asset
- Familiarity with sterile work techniques
