**Who is Green as Grass?**

At Green as Grass our inclusive team has a passion for building landscapes of all kinds and we are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in working in the fast, exciting, and ever-expanding construction industry. For over 30 years we have been installing all types of hard and soft landscaping for high-end single-family homes, multi-family residential projects, and commercial projects. **This is not** mowing lawns and pruning hedges. **This is** the Landscape Construction Trade. We are expanding the size of our company dramatically as the construction market booms and we need talented people to grow with us.

**What type of person meets our criteria?**
- **A broad range of construction experience** - Whether you are an experienced tradesman or someone looking to get a foothold in the industry, we have a spot for you. We are looking for general labourers, skilled labourers, and foremen.
- **A good work ethic** - Come to work daily, ready to sweat a little. We don’t demand that you run a marathon every day, but this is a physical job and you should be prepared to lift heavy objects from time to time and push yourself to a pace that is tiring but manageable in whatever task you are doing.
- **Able to handle Vancouver weather** - This job is performed outside in uncovered areas 99% of the time. So, you have to be able to handle the rain and cold of the winter and the sunshine and heat of the summer.
- **A desire to do good work** - Care about the product you are installing and have a desire to leave our client with a preferable result, no matter how small your task might be. Every part of our work is important and we want you to care and get the satisfaction of a job well done at the end of the day.

- **Competitive pay** - One of our mantras is that we are proud to pay our team members for what they are worth and their talents and efforts will be compensated accordingly. We don’t care about seniority, so if you consistently produce a better and faster install then you could earn way more than you started at, in no time. We don’t shy away from giving frequent raises, provided that you have earned it. Simply put, the more you produce, the more we make, and the more we can pay you. We are happy to pay more for those who produce more, that way we all win in the end.
- **$1000 Signing Bonus** - We offer a $1000 signing bonus payable to everyone after 3 months of full-time work. If you aren’t sure about working with us, give it a shot for 3 months, and if you decide this isn’t for you, we will be happy to give you the bonus, shake hands, and part ways. But maybe in the meantime you will learn to love this work like we do.

- We are looking to expand our company and we need talented people to fill critical roles. If you prove to have a passion for landscaping and the ability to match, we would be happy to train and advance you into a leadership position. Of course this would come with more responsibilities and more compensation.
- **Training** - If you are new to the trades or if you are looking to hone your skills, we will be happy to train you in our field of expertise. From the installation process, techniques and practice with power and basic hand tools, and even operating heavy machinery.
- **Flexibility** - Everybody needs a break and we recognize that our team needs to get away and enjoy life outside of work. We are happy to accommodate extra vacation time and as a result we don’t limit the amount of vacation days allotted.
- **Permanent, full-time work** - We are not seasonal. We work through the entire year and you can expect to be able to earn a living year-round. We work Monday-Friday, day shifts. Saturdays are sometimes available for those interested in working more, but its completely optional and never expected of anyone.

**What tasks should you expect to do?**
- **Soft landscaping** - Loading and grading soil, sand, mulch, road base, and rock. Installing turf, plants, and trees.
- **Hard landscaping** - Installing pavers on aggregate and pavers on pedestals. Installing concrete block and wood retaining walls. Installing wood fences.

**Experience/Qualifications that could be beneficial** - (Not necessary)
- Landscaping installation experience
- Construction experience
- Drivers license
- Excavator operation experience
- Skid-steer operation experience
- Fall gear certification
