POSITION

Fossil Landscape Construction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced construction professional to lead our estimating and preconstruction activity. This role is responsible for reviewing drawings, assessing project requirements, performing takeoffs, estimating various construction tasks and preparing proposals for residential landscaping projects. Once project is secured, the individual will lead the preconstruction phase by finalizing material orders, coordinating subcontractors, developing project schedules and general planning before handing projects over to a Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Analyze landscape plans, drawings, specifications and other project documents to accurately determine overall project scope and requirements.
- Attend design meetings and site visits to gather additional project information.
- Complete quantity take-offs from plans.
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates of labour materials, equipment and other expenses.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors and team members to obtain necessary information to complete estimates.
- Coordinate with the project management team to ensure that proposals are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Lead preconstruction efforts, setting up projects for success before handing over to Project Management team.
- Assist in the budget management and ongoing estimating of current construction projects.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape construction estimating, preconstruction or project management.
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience in landscape construction.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping and construction practices, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, drawings, and construction specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail and operates with a sense of urgency and accountability.
