Hearn Industrial Services Inc. is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our rapidly growing operations. This role will provide accounting support to the business. Good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively are essential.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records
- Assist with preparing and consolidating financial statements
- Establishing and maintaining internal controls
- Managing all aspects of the general ledger
- Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly tax filings
- Coordinating or assisting with the budget process
- Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Analyzing and reporting cost variances
- Update and maintain accounting and other records detailing financial business transactions in accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable and invoicing
- Actively involved in weekly reporting
- Review and reconcile payroll on a weekly basis
- Preparation of weekly and monthly journal entries
- Various Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Compile journal entries
- Compile regular weekly production reports
- Monitor aged accounts receivable and assist with collection activities as necessary
- Assist in year end preparations and audit requests
- Assist other Finance and Admin staff where needed
- Support the development and implementation of Forecasts and Budgets
- Support the improvement of productivity and reporting time lines
- Assist in implementing Job Costing reports and metrics within a timely manor
- Provide continuous improvement support for all accounting functions
- Support other Operational Set Ups and Launches as needed
- Provide Customer Response as needed

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Sage 300 accounting software experience will be an asset
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end closing procedures
- Desire to move up in the Finance Department
