Closer to Home Community Services (CTH) is a Calgary and Airdrie based not-for-profit agency that delivers a variety of services designed to meet the unique needs of vulnerable children and their families. **About the Role**:
We are looking for individuals to join our dedicated and knowledgeable Board who strategically guides the organization forward using a policy-based model of governance. As a volunteer Board Member, you will contribute to the development, implementation and approval of Closer to Home’s overall strategic plan and budget; as well as provide guidance to the organization using Board policies and objectives. You will also represent and promote the organization at external events and with stakeholders and help to cultivate prospects and raise funds.

**About You**:
Our ideal Board member is someone who has previous Board experience and is a ‘big picture’ thinker. You need to possess strong leadership and governance skills. You believe in contributing to society and in the power of a cohesive and supportive community. You are a positive and empathetic individual, with a passion for children and families, and eager to learn about Closer to Home Community Services.

Previous experience as a board member or with executive level non-profit management is an asset. Volunteer Board Members are asked to commit to a three-year term, attend nine board meetings annually, have a willingness to participate on a Board Committee, and support our events. All volunteers must complete a Police Information Check and an Intervention Record Check prior to becoming a volunteer with the organization.
