**Emergency Response - Regional Manager (East)**

**Reporting to**: Vice President Remediation, & EM/ERS

The Operations Supervisor develops, leads, and supervises a team of diverse Emergency Response professionals, ensuring the safe and complete execution of hazardous material emergency response incidents. This includes overseeing and supporting day-to-day operations, ensuring equipment readiness, overseeing scheduling, mentoring staff, training new staff, developing business, and supporting other regions, as required.

**Accountabilities**

**Emergency Response and Environmental Remediation**
- Responsible to ensures safe and efficient response to all emergency responses and environmental remediation and projects within their region.
- Supports the communicates technical Information to QM LP staff, clients, public, and government stakeholders as approved by Technical Lead.
- Supports securing contract and billing information for cost recovery.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient mobilization of QM LP and subcontracted staff and equipment.
- Support and coordinates the completion of all required paperwork and reports for operational tasks, including the management and transportation of waste in accordance with provincial and federal regulations is completed.
- Responsible to ensure all required safety paperwork including, but not limited to; toolbox talks, safety meetings, daily safe work permits, health and safety plans, field level and project pre-planning is completed and documented by all field staff prior to commencing any operational activities.
- Ensuring all maintenance is completed and documented for all equipment and vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
- Oversee the basic housekeeping of our buildings and our work areas.
- Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulatory authorities.
- Assist the management team in coordinating National initiatives related to Emergency Response.
- Fulfills ‘Incident Command’ roles as a Section Chief: operations, planning, and logistics.

**Training, Competency, and Certification**
- Responsible for completion and updating of all required personnel training.
- Overseas ongoing assessment of competency and skill development.
- Responsible to ensure all required internal training exercises are completed to meet and/or exceed ERAP requirements annually.
- Responsible for all external audits to maintain required certifications in their respective region.
- Assist in developing and delivering required training programs to our clients and within the organization.
- Attend scheduled training as assigned by Regional Supervisor.

**Health and Safety**
- Responsible to ensure all personnel follow Corporate Health and Safety Program, Policy and Procedures are followed and support ongoing assessment for effectiveness as it relates to emergency response.
- Supports and participates in health and safety initiatives, investigations, and continuous improvement to ensure corporate goals and targets are met.
- Ensures health and safety is considered in the performance of all activities.
- Ensure HSE compliance with applicable Federal, Provincial Acts, Codes and Regulations

**Leadership**
- Oversees the work and the general operations of their respective region. May supervise other positions as required.
- Responsible for the resolution of safety, regulatory, and business conflicts that arise.
- Supports the development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of annual goals, targets, and key performance indicators for personnel.
- Contributes to the organizational effectiveness and profitability of the organization.
- Maintains and supports relationships with clients, business partners, vendors, and supply chain partners.
- Supports and builds interest of QM services.
- Provides technical direction and directs staff during emergency events.
- Organizes and promotes professional developmental opportunities for employees and training.

**Financial Management**
- Supports the preparation of cost estimates, proposals, bids, and quotations.
- Supports tracking and cost controls on all projects.
- Supports the development of, implementation of, and adherence to annual budgets.

**Operational Management**
- Supports and participates in corporate strategic planning and implementation of strategic goals, objectives, and key performance indicators.
- Ensures the region complies with all government regulations.
- Continuously develops regional opportunities for expansion and growth.
- Supports the review of workflows, processes, workforce planning, staffing and purchase requirements to improve efficiency, productivity, quality control and profitability to meet or exceed established company turn-around times and customer requirements.
