Grande Prairie, Canada Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association Full time

Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue is looking for an individual to join our Cat Care Team The Cat Care Team Member will work under the supervision of the management team to provide care for felines at the Bandaged Paws facility as well as helping with a variety of tasks throughout the facility. As part of the Cat Care Team, the responsibilities include:

- Cat Care - helping to ensure the health and wellbeing of the cats by cleaning kennels, sanitizing kennels as required, basic grooming, feeding, giving medications, exercising, cuddling, monitoring and charting for any medical or behavioral issues/changes
- Facility Care - upkeep and cleaning facility, rotating laundry, cleaning carriers, cleaning dishes/litter boxes/etc.
- Additional Support - finalizing adoption contracts, processing intakes, event help and assisting with fundraising efforts as required.
- Safety - ensuring volunteers and the public are following policies and procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Comfortable handling cats and small animals, such as rabbits
- Comfortable working around other animals, including dogs
- Physically fit to undertake labour duties; have the ability to walk, reach overhead, carry up to 50lbs unassisted or 75lbs assisted from the ground, as well as standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work with a varying schedule including evenings and weekends;
- Ability to tolerate unpleasant odours
- No allergy to animals
- Comfortable working alone with animals
- Good written communication/documentation skills;
- Ability to deal with members of the public in a professional manner
- Ability to complete paperwork and maintain records as required by the rescue;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality pursuant to the rescue’s confidentiality policy;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Ability to time manage various tasks and prioritize tasks accordingly;
- Availability to work with a varying schedule including evenings and weekends

Considered an Asset:

- Secondary school diploma preferred; post-secondary education
- Animal control, enforcement, pound or shelter related experience
- Computer skills including MS Office and platforms
- Knowledge of animal behaviour and breeds

**This position will require mainly evening shifts ranging from 11:30am-7pm and may include morning shifts ranging from 8am-5pm**

The successful applicants will be team players with a genuine love for animals, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. They will be a self-starter who can work with mínimal supervision and be able to contribute positively to the team environment.
