Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor is primarily responsible to supervise the day to day activities of the finance/ accounting department. The Supervisor also interacts and communicates with all levels of management to ensure compliance to internal financial systems.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Prepares the preauthorized payments for lease agreements across the organization
- Manages transfers and FX transactions, bank charges and loans for the organization
- Performs General Ledger account maintenance
- Leads F9 Account reporting project and related improvement initiatives
- Maintains cash flow sheets daily and cash control sheets weekly
- Review and monitor customer aging reports and implement action plans
- Close inventory management for monthly GL transfer
- Perform month end closing and financial
- Create journal entries for variable, standard, payroll entries
- Comply with the documented system of accounting policies and procedures and ensure adherence legislative requirements, internal policies and procedures and IFRS and J-SOX protocols
- Monitor and reconcile daily cash and loan balances
- Take a leadership role (PIC) in all financial external audits
- Ensure timely payment of government and regulatory remittances
- Assist with month end, quarterly and annual reporting and gap analysis
- Participates in external audit activities and respond to audit findings as required
- Develop yearly department business plans, including yearly investment projects, create monthly execution plans to achieve overall business objectives
- Perform and participate in a variety of audit tasks and duties for physical inventory as required
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives through-out the department and company
- Other duties as assigned in order to meet business objectives
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting/finance position
- Minimum 2 Years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Proficient with MS Office
- Solid understanding of Mapics systems, ERP System (an asset) or similar function
- Comprehensive working knowledge of IFRS principals and J-SOX requirement and how to implement these systems
- Strong data and financial analytic skills
- Experience within automotive or manufacturing sector
**QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION**
- University, College Degree or Diploma in accounting
- CGA, CMA designation would be desirable

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Structured shifts that may be fixed or rotational in nature
- Ability to work overtime hours as required and shifts outside your structured shift assignment
- Provide on-call coverage during off shifts and weekends
- Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) schedule as assigned
