**Responsibilities
- Supports the Facilities Manager in the upkeep of the facilities, equipment, and supplies to meet security, operating needs, and health and safety standards.
- Maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Performs daily tasks focused on the cleanliness of the property both interior and exterior.
- Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or plastering. *
- Performs assembly and relocation of furniture, equipment, and supplies**:

- Completes work assignments and projects in a timely manner.
- Participates in routine inspections and tests on the building premises and systems as assigned by the Facilities Manager**:

- Assists maintenance workers and other workers with their tasks. *
- May assist external contractors where required (i.e., custodial, snow removal services, lawn care, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, construction, access control, security, etc.).. *
- Notifies Facilities Manager of depleted supply and equipment inventory and makes minor purchases as required**:

- Supports in the disposal of waste, recycling, old equipment and supplies etc.
- May, on occasion, participate in the planning of office space changes, reconfigurations, and emergency issue resolution activities.
- Complies with established safety guidelines and procedures.

**Knowledge & Experience**

**Education**
- High School diploma

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Proven experience in the field of Facilities Maintenance or relevant position.
- Hands-on experience and ability to perform basic electrical, networking, HVAC, plumbing maintenance, and repairs will be an advantage
- Great time-management skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant professional qualification (i.e., Certified Facility Manager (CFM)) will be an advantage.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Highly motivated with a hands-on can-do attitude.
- Proven ability to assume ownership of issues and projects.
- High degree of tenacity and persistence to get tasks completed on schedule.
- Performs well under pressure.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills. Strong priority-based time management. The position is mostly self-supervised.

**Working Conditions**
- Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to withstand varying temperatures as is required from time to time where work is performed externally during winter or summer months.
- Must be able to carry loads of up to 50 (fifty) pounds or more as is required where heavy equipment, furniture or supplies is used, moved, and purchased.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time as required depending on the task or repair.
- Must be able to work in small spaces where necessary for repair.
- Ability to attain and maintain security clearance.
