Summary:
After nearly 20 years of contracting out to private companies, Providence Health Care welcomes the return of 227 Food Services staff who have officially joined the Providence family across five PHC sites: Holy Family Hospital, Mount Saint Joseph Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital, St. John's Hospice, St. Vincent's Langara and Youville residences.
Reporting to the Director, Food Services, the Manager, Quality, Standards and Innovation is jointly responsible with the Food Services management team for overseeing the short and long-term planning, design, implementation and delivery of efficient and cost effective quality food services across all PHC sites.
Together with the colleagues of the Operations and Retail management teams and the Director, the Manager is responsible for building and maintaining exceptional customer and operational service provider relations that deliver consistent performance to commonly required standards. The Manager anticipates major changes at their designated facilities that impact services, and plans and implements mitigating strategies.
Qualifications / Skills and Education:
**About You**
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Services Management, Clinical Nutrition or related field
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of recent, related experience in a large multi-site organization
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in operational and/or project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
**Skills and Abilities**
- Broad knowledge of health facility support service operations.
- Demonstrated ability to critically assess and implement policy, procedures and standards and influence change.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational and project management principles, methodologies, and ability to coach team members on these skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge in contract management, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Practical understanding of contract law and commercial terms & conditions.
- Extensive experience in managing partner/service provider relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager Quality, Standards and Innovation:
- Oversees the standards development and best practices, training and related business process improvement.
- Represents PHC on Provincial and Health Organization committees such as the Ministry of Agriculture local foods working group and BC Food Services Tech Team.
- Acts as the Food Services corporate lead in the development and implementation of business cases, strategic initiatives and related projects.
- Ensures all standards and procedures align with the goals of the organizations, policies and regulatory and other requirements.
- Develops effective communication strategies to ensure that standards and procedures are disseminated and adopted by all staff and stakeholders.
- The Manager supports the goals and objectives of Food Services and the fosters partnerships with customer departments throughout the organization, partners and external stakeholders to influence, persuade and facilitate consensus with respect to resources, rights, and privileges regarding Food Services.
