**Position Title**: Advisor, AODA and Accessibility

**Status**: FT Admin

**Hours**: 37.5hrs/wk

**Faculty/Department**: Office of Human Rights & Harassment

**Campus/Location**:North Campus

**Hiring Range: $84,800 - 106,001**

**What you will do**

Reporting to the Manager, Human Rights, Harassment & Employment Equity, you will be responsible for providing consultation and advice on AODA compliance and on the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to accessibility within the College’s systems, structures and policies.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Provide consultation and advice on the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to accessibility within the College’s systems, structures and policies.
- Subject matter expert supporting full accessibility and inclusion at Humber
- Engages the Humber community in areas of accessibility and AODA
- Ensures prompt and equitable resolution of accessibility barriers (including complaints), inquiries and AODA related feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Consult on accessibility issues that come to the Office
- Monitor AODA Training modules and any related questions
- Lead Humber’s AODA Committee, including scheduling, agenda and minutes
- Assist in the work outlined in Humber’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
- Lead work on postsecondary education accessibility standards
- Complete AODA compliance reports
- Update and develop relevant resources
- Work with other related departments throughout the College to ensure accessibility embedded throughout
- Maintain appropriate records
- Strong analytical skills; able to exercise sound judgement
- Conduct research on area-specific issues
- Perform other duties related to the role as assigned

What you bring to the role

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field

Experience and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience or equivalent education or experience
- An understanding of the impact of accessibility and disabilities in a post-secondary environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and demonstrated expertise in understanding and working with: the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA. 2001); the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA, 2005) and all Standards (General, Information and Communications, Employment, and the Accessible Built Environment - including the Design of Public Spaces); and the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Duty to Accommodate
- An equivalent combination of educational, professional and lived experiences will also be considered
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex situations and recommend resolutions
- Strong critical analysis in addressing complex issues within an intersectional framework
- Effective verbal communication and strong presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Experience developing tools and resources to support the implementation of AODA and accessibility.
- Strong organizational, administrative and case management skills to independently handle multiple demands and deliver service excellence.
- Demonstrated experience handling contentious and confidential information with sensitivity, good judgment and discretion
- Proficient computer skills
