This position is not eligible to work remotely.
**Main Function**:This position is responsible to the Maintenance Compliance Officer to coordinate and administer meter shop (AMI) and backflow program activities in accordance with provincial regulations, by-laws and policies, in support of quality customer service outcomes and the business plan for the section.
**Characteristic Duties**:Under the general direction of the Maintenance Compliance Officer.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance activities and staff, ensuring safe and efficient maintenance in compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation.
- Responsible to review incoming work requests and prioritize maintenance action requirements and schedule work backlog according to best industry practices and City of Greater Sudbury (CGS) guidelines.
- Assist, advise, and liaise with section management to develop, review, and update procedures for compliance related to meter shop (AMI) and backflow program requirements.
- Ensure CMMS software data files are complete and current by gathering equipment and associated maintenance information and developing task assignments.
- Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory updates and liaise regularly with special purpose bodies and regulatory authorities; DFO, MECP, MOL, MOH.
- Prepare operating and maintenance records and regulatory documents for inspection in compliance with legislated requirements.
- Conduct on-site inspections, studies, and audits of infrastructure facility inventory and maintenance work items and, where necessary, coordinate with consultants and qualified personnel to analyze and prepare reports on the root cause of equipment failures and other findings.
- Coordinate and oversee related compliance programs (e.g., Backflow Program and Q.M.S.) as required.
- Participate on hiring committees and assist with investigations into workplace concerns or compliance issues that may result in corrective action for staff.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable provincial legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
**Education And Training**:
- Successful completion of a community college diploma with Canadian accreditation in a related field.
- Additional educational initiatives to update and expand competencies.
- Must obtain relevant Operator-In-Training (OIT) certification through the Ontario Water/Wastewater Certification Office (OWWCO) within six (6) months from date of hire. Once obtained, certification must be maintained and held in good standing.
**Experience**:
- Must have three (3) years of demonstrated experience in a maintenance planning and coordination role or maintenance leadership role.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems is a requirement.
- Municipal and public sector experience a definite asset.
