**RELIEF (CASUAL) CHILD &YOUTH WORKER**

**Salary: $17.96 an hour with increases based on hours of service ** **plus $3.00 per hour Government Wage Enhancement**

You must be available a **minimum of six shifts per month including some weekend work. **Flexible hours, can work up to 40 hours per week.

**Since 1980**, Pioneer Youth Services operates residential treatment homes for children and youth with behavioural, social, emotional, developmental. and psychological disorders

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Counseling residents individually and/or in a group setting
- **Carrying out regular, planned programs and activities & provide on the floor supervision**:

- Monitors interaction between individual residents and intervene if issues arise
- Teaching social and life skills through interaction and modelling
- Liaise with family and social worker of resident
- Completing logs and incident reports as required
- Administer medications

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Experience in a residential treatment (group home) setting for children and young adults with emotional, physical, social, behavioural challenges and/or dual diagnosed youths would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships with both staff and residents
