**Cook (African and Intercontinental Cuisine)**

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, **including African (Nigerian) and intercontinental meals.**:

- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control for all menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards.
- Monitor food stock levels, assist with inventory and ordering, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with management on menu design, seasonal offerings, and themed events.
- Train and guide kitchen assistants and support staff.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Support catering functions and cultural or corporate events, showcasing creativity and versatility in menu planning.

**Cuisine Specialties**:

- African Cuisine (especially Nigerian)
- Intercontinental Cuisine (e.g., Continental, Mediterranean, Asian Fusion, Western-style dishes)

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook/chef, with proven **ability to prepare both African and intercontinental dishes.**:

- In-depth knowledge of traditional African recipes, spices, and cooking techniques, plus familiarity with international culinary trends.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- **Food Safety Certification** required (or willingness to obtain).
- **Safe Food Handling Certificate** required.
- Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and introducing customers to a variety of global flavors.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
