Summerhill Market is looking for a **Salad Maker** to join the Produce Salads Team at our **Commissary** location.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
As a member of the Summerhill Market team, you will conduct yourself with integrity and are committed to providing the best possible service to Summerhill’s customers, staff and clients. The primary focus of the Produce Prep Clerk is to prepare and produce fresh cut fruit, vegetable and salad assortments that we sell in our Produce department.
- Assembling fruit and vegetables for ready-to-go snacks/meals producing a variety of cut fruit and salads for merchandizer display cases
- Cutting and washing lettuce and other leafy green products
- Adhering to strict daily production levels and assisting with stock as required
- Communicating any issues with regards to inventory levels, raw materials, machinery or the department as a whole to the Supervisor
- Becoming familiar with all store products and their locations in order to assist customers in locating items
- Supporting Produce Management with monitoring ordering, inventory and wastage
- Maintaining production cleanliness. Assembling and disassembling machinery as needed for cleaning and maintenance
- Being a team player and helping your team members across the store as needed
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention

**Skillset Requirements**:

- Passion for food - you are a true foodie at heart
- Good communication and team work skills
- Previous produce, grocery or food industry experience along with a Food Safety Handlers Certification is an asset
- Collaborative with the ability to work in a dynamic team to create solutions in support of produce production
- Able to stand for long periods of time, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
- Flexible availability to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts with the ability to accommodate various shift coverage on short notice
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act
- Comfortable working in a cooler, climate controlled environment, entering coolers/freezers as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

**Experience**:

- knife use/kitchen/food prep: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
