Health and Safety Manager

This position in on site in Mississauga Ontario Canada Education: BAC which includes a certification in health, safety, occupational hygiene or the equivalent - Security officer certificate in accordance with the safety code for construction work & Certificate in occupational health and safety, an asset - Experience: 5 years in prevention and promotion of health and safety at work, in the construction and industrial sector - Autonomy, rigor and efficiency - Bilingual orally and in writing - Communication and animation of training both oral and written - Working knowledge of applicable OSH laws, standards and regulations - Knowledge of Office Suite - Knowledge of the Cognibox system - Open-mindedness - Strong sense of analysis and aptitude for strategic thinking and the search for original solutions - Recognized skills for development and coaching to achieve targeted results - Demonstrate positive leadership - Sense of customer service, priority management, work under pressure and ability to intervene - Hold a valid driver's license and available for frequent travel - Team spirit - Flexible and adapt to different types of customers - Positive attitude - Not afraid of heights and not afraid of heights Any combination of education and experience deemed relevant will also be considered. See that the company complies with all laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety; - Promote and ensure the free flow of information with respect to the company's culture in terms of promotion and integrated management of occupational health and safety as well as the safety aspect of products and offered services; - Resource person for regulations and safety equipment for external customers in the showroom or on the phone. May be called upon to sell them the products offered; - Recommend and ensure the updating and implementation of internal standards, policies, programs, procedures and prevention processes for the integration of good practices in occupational health and safety; - Improve the technical skills of managers to enable them to ensure adequate management of occupational health and safety; - Develop tools for analyzing potential risks and good practices in occupational health and safety; - Perform risk assessment and analyze work-related hazards in the yard, on construction sites and in the factory, and implement specific prevention programs; - Participate in site analysis meetings organized by the client "client" to be informed of the state of the site. Communicate important information regarding the site, the sales team or the delivery in order to prevent, reduce and eliminate the risk of work accidents; - Investigate accidents or major issues and recommend reports and corrective and preventive measures; - As part of a temporary assignment, rehabilitation and return to work, manage and assess the suitability of the position based on the worker's abilities; - Increase managers' and employees' awareness of health and safety issues. Formulate any recommendation or directive to the managers and employees concerned; - Advise managers, employees and customers on good practices and safe work methods and various prevention activities; - Ensure the overall administration of repair interventions (administrative reviews, challenges, medical expertise, etc.); - Prepare, plan, organize and distribute training and prevention activities for accidents and occupational injuries in companies and on construction sites (work at height, cramped/enclosed spaces, lockout, accident investigations, use of equipment, WHMIS, etc.); - Administer pre-employment medical questionnaires and make appropriate recommendations; - Responsible for the emergency measures plan, the first aid team and ensures that first aid kits are restocked. May be called upon to provide first aid; - Coordinate, structure and, on occasion, animate the meetings and activities of the Health and Safety Committees; - Responsible for compliance and management of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System). Ensure the updating and distribution of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS); - At the request of supplies, may be called upon to assess the risks of new products and make the appropriate recommendations; - Participate in welcoming new employees; - Any other related tasks established by his superior - #SC1
