**Youth/Child Residential Aide**

Currently we have **part-time** and **full-time** positions supporting youth/children with developmental disabilities living in a residential home. There is a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and every other weekend rotation.

Employees working in residential services are trained to the proper use of PPE when providing direct support to individuals.

**The Company**:
Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a community-based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights. We support over 380 Individuals in Central Alberta.

**The Position**:

- Service is very focused on teaching the children independence skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, etc. Therefore, staff must be willing to have children participate in tasks. Must be willing to facilitate visits with the children's family on a regular basis. Smudging will occur in the home on a regular basis. Staff must be willing to facilitate the individuals culture in all aspects of daily life, including cultural meals, language and activities. Staff must be willing to take individual swimming 2 times per week.
- Experience with learning challenges, knowledge and practice of Indigenous culture, customs and ceremonies would be considered an asset. Must transport individuals daily to activities and school. Once per week, must drive individual to home community and various indigenous communities. Staff must be willing to utilize city bus with the children.

**Hourly wage**: $16.84 - $18.30.

**The Requirements**:

- Completion of Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma
- 1-year experience in a related field of Human Service
- Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Check

**All current vacancies require a vehicle and a valid driver’s license (with valid insurance, registration & acceptable driver’s abstract).**
